Golikov Mikhail Sergeevich was born in 1980 in Leningrad.

In 1998 he graduated from the secondary special music school at the St. Petersburg State Conservatory named after N.A. Rimsky-Korsakov in the class of “Choral conducting”.

Since 2009 - artistic director and chief conductor of the International Symphony Orchestra "Tavrichesky" - a follower of the traditions of the cultural and creative heritage of the orchestra and choir of the Capella "Tavrichesky", which was established by the Interparliamentary Assembly of the CIS Member States.

In 2017 and 2020 Mikhail Golikov is the artistic director of the ceremonial events in honor of the anniversary of the Assembly at the Tauride Palace. Under his leadership, the Tauride International Symphony Orchestra conducts active concert activities in Russia and abroad: it gives concerts in the most prestigious halls in Austria, Germany, Spain, Italy, the Netherlands, Russia, France, and China.

In 2014, the only concert at the referendum on the status of Crimea was given by the Tavrichesky Symphony Orchestra conducted by Golikov.
In July 2017, he headed the newly formed State Symphony Orchestra of the Leningrad Region.

Since 2018, Golikov has been the permanent artistic director of the famous festival “Smoke on the Water. From Classics to Rock” (Grand Prix at the Russian Event Awards 2021), and since 2020 - artistic director of the Leningrad Region Choir Festival (Grand Prix at the Russian Event Awards 2021)
In July 2020, he founded a community of like-minded people and a new orchestral formation, Digital Orchestra by Golikov, which united the best musicians of Moscow and St. Petersburg.

The official premiere of the Digital Orchestra by Golikov project was the screening of all 9 symphonies of Ludwig van Beethoven as part of the international online festival Classic@Home-BEE250VEN, dedicated to the 250th anniversary of the composer.

The musical project Digital Orchestra by Golikov was presented at the First Russian Creative Week in Gorky Park in September 2020.

In April 2021, the premiere of the film Beethoven by Digital Orchestra took place at the 43rd Moscow International Film Festival.

Since 2022, Mikhail Golikov has been the creator and artistic director of the Symphony Orchestra of the Caspian States, on the basis of which a unique project was brought to life in 2023 - the International Festival of Classical Art “Caspian Seasons”.

As part of the International Festival of Classical Art “Caspian Seasons - 2023”, the International Forum of Composers of the Caspian Countries was held.
Expanding the cultural influence of Russia in the Caspian region, the festival is an example of friendship and cooperation between countries that respect the culture and national traditions of all peoples.

For several years, the project has brought together the best musicians from the countries of the Caspian Commonwealth, both within the symphony orchestra and as soloists, opera singers and composers.

In 2023, Mikhail Golikov became the creator of the Youth Symphony Orchestra, which is a satellite of the Symphony Orchestra of the Caspian States.

The basis for the musicians’ training will be master classes and consolidated rehearsals under the guidance of the country’s leading orchestral musicians.

In October 2023, the TV BRICS International Media Network announced the establishment of the TVBRICS International Symphony Orchestra.

It will include leading musicians from Russia, China and other BRICS+ countries. Mikhail Golikov became the artistic director and chief conductor of the orchestra.
